In most cases, aerospace projects demand for a dedicated photo documentation. Photography is required for
technical purposes, but also to support public outreach, media information services and publications.
As a consequence, major aerospace organisations and companies use the services of professional photographers
to cover and support their projects and missions.
Aerospace photography is a challenging field. Only in rare occasions objects will be provided for dedicated photo sessions. In most cases, pictures have to be taken during ongoing operations amd activities. Difficult lighting conditions and tight security restrictions may considerably complicate the working environment for the photographer. For example close-up views of space mission launches require a special remote camera setups, since launch pads are not accessible during launch operations. Therefore a certain technical equipment and a good level of experience is required to obtain high quality photography.
